Welcome to Let’s Go Birding South Africa
‘Where passion meets Birds and Nature’
Welcome to Let’s Go Birding, South Africa is blessed with several distinct ecosystems, from Fynbos to our Oceans. The Western Cape particularly has lush Forests and Lagoons along the Garden Route, where you would find unique species like the Knysna Loerie (Turaco), Knysna Woodpecker and Knysna Warbler, and then meandering through the mountains and hills to the Overberg Region where you can record Blue Cranes, Denham’s Bustards, Ground Woodpecker and Rockjumpers, all the way to Cape Town, where you can spend time in Kirstenbosch, recording the Cape Sugarbird, Orange Breasted Sunbirds, Southern Double Collard Sunbird, amongst many other species along the way offering both Local and International Birders a bouquet of birds to record and capture.
Jacques Giliomee, Bird Guide and Founder, has mapped out several birding routes throughout the Cape Peninsula, Cape Winelands, Overberg, Swartland, Helderberg, Witzenberg, West Coast and surrounds, to help birders pocket those Western Cape, South Africa, Bucket List Bird Species. Jacques runs a successful and very interactive Facebook Birding Group where everyone is welcome. During your stay in the Western Cape, Jacques can make your stay a memorable one, by including some of the landmarks and experiences during your birding trip, Whale Watching, Wine Tasting, Table Mountain and Cape Point.
