TANKWA KAROO
Gannaga Lodge
Gannaga Lodge is situated in 20 hectares of its own ground within the Tankwa National Park. It is located in the Roggeveld Karoo, in some of the most spectacular countryside in the Northern Cape, at the summit of the breathtaking Gannaga Pass.
The Lodge lies 28 kilometres from Middelpos on the dirt road between there and Ceres. Middelpos itself is situated on the R354, exactly halfway between Sutherland and Calvinia. Gannaga Lodge is the only establishment within the boundaries of the National Park that offers bed and breakfast, half-board and full-board accommodation, as well as restaurant and bar facilities.
The Tankwa National Park (formerly the Tankwa-Karoo National Park) has recently been greatly extended through the acquisition of land both above and below Gannaga Pass. While the park cannot offer the big five, it can offer small animals, bird and plant life in abundance, as well as two radically different types of Karoo scenery, climate and ecology (above and below Gannaga Pass).

OVERBERG
De Hoop Collection Nature Reserve
Few other reserves offer as complete an outdoor experience as De Hoop – sea, sand dunes, the vlei, a floral sensation of rare fynbos plants, diverse antelope and the Potberg Mountains. Birders observe wading birds on the shores of the vlei while the Potberg Mountains are home to a colony of endangered Cape vultures. Hikers and cyclists have close-up encounters with bontebok, Cape mountain zebra, eland, baboons and ostrich. Activities are diverse and guests choose between various day walks through the rich fynbos plains or along the deserted coastline, or mountain biking along the many gravel roads or scenic game drives. Lazing on the beach and snorkeling in the many turquoise rock pools is simply another way to pass a rewarding day. Day visitors welcome, and restaurant open daily.
Honeywood Farm
Honeywood Farm has been in the Moodie family since 1817 and borders the wild and wonderful Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve up against the Langeberg Mountains. It is a nature lover’s paradise and offers hiking, mountain biking, birding, horse riding, and swimming in rivers and pools all in a peaceful and secure environment.
WEST COAST
Kuifkop Visvanger
Kuifkopvisvanger is situated on the banks of the Berg River where fishing enthusiasts can try their hand at catching the big one for the day from the river banks. Fish on the menu are Kabeljou, Steenbras and Elf, have the fire ready for a lekker/delicious fish braai. If fishing is not your style you can enjoy a canoe ride, a stroll along the riverfront or you can test your endurance with a bicycle ride across the farm.
Le Mahi
LANGEBAAN: A HAVEN OF TRANQUILLITY OR A HIVE OF ACTIVITY.
With Langebaan’s wide beach is a little over one kilometre from your doorstep you can try your hand at kitesurfing, stand-up-paddle boarding, riding a jetski, taking a boat cruise or simply cast your lure into the lagoon and wait for that Yellowtail.

Cedar Garden
Our English Country, park-like, bed and breakfast accommodation in Underberg is the perfect spot for all travellers. The house was built in the 50s and a beautiful oak tree was planted at the same time. The Cedar giving the property its name, was stuck by lightning many years ago, but is still standing! The tranquil, almost parklike garden has many different trees, flowers and sofar 67 bird species have been recorded. The establishment is centrally located in the village of Underberg, with unlimited outdoor activities in the area.
